Photography has always been a passion of mine. From the first days my dad would let me borrow his old Nikon to take pictures of mushrooms and bugs along our many hiking trails, to the day I finally saved up enough to buy my first DSLR, I have been snapping and obsessing over photographs.
I became interested in photographing people as I delved into learning more about the great “masters.” I finally found my true love in French photographer Robert Doisneau. His portraits of everyday life in Paris are often funny, beautiful, and most importantly, tell a compelling story.
While my photographs may not feel influenced by Doisneau, it is my goal to try to create a story or at least intrigue the viewer into creating their own for the photographed subject. It is my hope that my subjects can see the person they want to be in my photographs and see their imaginings in physical form.
Currently based in Austin, Texas, I hope to expand my portfolio, take interesting photographs, and continue to have an amazing time with this art form.
I thank my super supportive parents, Emily’s endearing encouragement, Josh’s technical talent and TLC, as well as all my wonderful friends who let me borrow their faces for practice. Without you, I would not be where I am. Thank you!
