To take a break from my writing today, Josh and I decided to go out to McKinney Falls State Park where the fields were covered in flowers. Texas Wildflowers are world famous, and most famous of all are the bluebonnets. We have these in Idaho as well, though they are not nearly as bright, and we call them plain lupines. It is great to see all the families out taking pictures of the gorgeous flowers and enjoying nature.
Even though the vibrant blue flowers steal the stage, there were dozens of other flowers also partaking in the show. I have yet to look up all their names, but they were beautiful. The bright blues, yellows, and pinks all create a perfect Saturday afternoon backdrop.
If you have not taken the opportunity to get outside and see the Texas wildflowers you’d better hurry before they start fading away. This beautiful rainbow dotting the landscape only happens once a year. Enjoy!
